Kenji wished there was something he could do to help his friend but he felt like he couldn’t. It came naturally from her, the sweet gestures and the attention he was giving to Jeong. It was part of how he had been raised and to treat ladies well. He wouldn’t say that Kevin wasn’t treating them right, but he certainly was shyer than he was on the matter and wouldn’t look as natural if Kevin was going to act like he did. He couldn’t tell him to do as he did either, it would be weird.
“Indeed she wouldn’t be able to see you then, but you can do things at home.” He suggested. How about he just let a bouquet of flowers on their bed for her to see when she came back? She would surely like that, most girls liked to get flowers without having an excuse for it. He could send her flowers at work too. “You can send her flowers at her job, or just get her a bouquet and leave it at a place you know she might see when she comes home and I promise I won’t toss it away if you do.” He added, kidding on the last part.
Kevin was right on that point, that they could be difficult to understand but he felt like he was getting to know Jeong well. He just needed to find something that would connect them. “why don’t you two go hike on a weekend day?” He suggested.

Talking to Kenji only proved one thing to Kevin: he wasn't going to be as good as his friend with the ladies, ever. Not even with the one he had. He couldn't even say it was because of Kenji's upbringing. Kevin too had a sister and was told to be polite. He had trouble with his family, but because of his parents' divorce and his mother's new husband, then boyfriend at the time. So it had nothing to do with women. Yet Kevin had no idea how to seduce a girl or appear charming. It made him wonder why Jade even picked him in the first place.
Maybe if he looked like Kenji it would help. But he did not and Kevin wasn't interested in training as much as his friend did anyway. his situation was a bit different than Kenji and he thought it would be weird to meet outside her work. Besides, they had very different work schedules, and he had studies too. Home was the best, he supposed. Kenji wouldn't tease him if he did something in his presence as well, like a compliment or making a meal she liked more in particular, but it was a tad embarrassing in his eyes. Flowers? He supposed he could do flowers. He wondered which ones he liked. His first thought was something exotic, since she travelled so much around the world, but he then thought she was very down to earth too and might like simpler ones, like him. He'll have to think about it. "That's an idea," he conceded. And it would show that he wanted to make an effort, right? Wasn't there a shop selling some in Diagon Alley, not too far from the Menagerie? He could have sworn he saw some. He didn't say anything about the tossing because he knew Kenji wouldn't. not without at least asking who they were for first. And then, he'd touch them only if they were for him.
He paused again to think about his friend's suggestion. camping was something he liked and knew Jade enjoyed as well. It was an idea. They had talked about it, but Kevin mostly went with his family. "I'll have to make sure she won't be working that weekend, but that can be done. I could ask my parents for a tent." Maybe it wouldn't be magical with all the space that came with it, but Kevin never slept in those. He hoped it would be a good way for them to get closer. He still couldn't believe that they never got closer than when she spent most of her evenings and nights at the hospital wing where he was. They wouldn't even kiss really, not with the chance of being spotted by the nurse, but they were close then. Tragedies really had a way of bringing people together. But Kevin wanted them to be close even with things going well.

In Kenji’s opinion, Kevin might say all he wanted, Jade wanted to be with him and had always done so. He didn’t know why, but he was happy that Kevin had found someone who wanted to spend her time with him. It must have been weird to him to see him dating Delilah at the time; he was willing to give him that much. Jade was a strong one who stood by his side and ended up confessing to him. He thought that things were doing well between them as they weren’t the same kind of dating people as he and Delilah were or even he and Jeong. However, he might end up suggest a double date and surely, Jade would like it; didn’t things go smoothly when they went to the ball together? He would just have to make sure they picked a place where they wouldn’t be noticed much because he was a Quidditch Athlete. He kept that idea in mind for later as now, it wasn’t the matter.
He smiled when Kevin seemed to agree with his idea and nodded. “I’m glad I’m helping.” He said to his friend. It was rare that they got to have these conversations and was happy that he could be able to do that for him. He didn’t think he was being a ladies' man but he did give extra attention to Jeong; the girl was on the shy side like his twin and maybe it was why he was comfortable around her. He never bothered wondering too much about it.
“You can talk to her about it in advance so you can both schedule a date that fits both of you.” He suggested. He was certain she would be happy about it that he even thought of this. It would give them some space and time to discuss with one and another.

It was funny how everyone told him that Jade loved him and wanted to be with him. Perhaps because they saw it long before he did, so they couldn't imagine it changing. But Kevin felt a distance between them and for someoen like him to feel that, it had to be pretty obvious. Perhaps Jade might even been wondering when he would have, like everything else.
He started to wonder if maybe he should have asked Delilah instead. She was a girl, maybe she could help him understand more. But he was also impressed by Kenji and how effortless it seemed for him to do things with Jeong. he could see them becoming that couple all the witches and wizards talk about. It was why he wanted to have his input, know what eh would do if he had to impress someone like Jade.
"Yes, talking would be better. I don't want it to turn bad because she was not prepared for this or anything." He didn't want her angry at him because that was not something she was into yet had been forced to reschedule something important for it. If he was to make an effort, it was not to be turned down. He would then be even more confused as to what women wanted. So he would have to wait until she approved of this idea before asking his parents if he could borrow their equipment. "And when are you going to see Jeong again?" he asked, to change the subject. He didn't know if they were officially dating, he had not introduced her as his lover, but it was pretty clear they were interested in each other. There were so many cups of cocoa a man can buy a woman before it was clear he loved her.

Kenji might be the kind of boy who didn’t want to rush it but there was a limit to what he could handle. Especially when it was about Kevin and Jade. It was as clear as water that she loved his friend and yet, he hadn’t noticed it because he had feelings for Delilah whom he was dating. He had to admit that high school could be quite confusing at that time and he definitely didn’t take any offense in the fact that Delilah admitted that she preferred girls over to boys. It was a hard thing to get out of the closet and he didn’t care about the rumours who said that he wasn’t enough of a good boyfriend which was the reason behind the fact that Delilah turned homosexual. He had someone else in mind now which was Jeong and was happy with what he was having with the girl. He also knew that she had a caring family and didn’t want to ruin it with them either. He made it clear to her that he was interested but he wasn’t against taking a slow pace either. She could be so shy at times he would rather give her the space she needed while reminding her that he was there for her too.
He nodded when Kevin agreed into talking to Jade about it. “She looks like a planner I don’t think she would like not being able to do so when you two will go out.” He said to the girl. Sure, she had a knack for traveling around the world but her parents surely showed her how to be organized while doing so. He shrugged when Kevin questioned him about Jeong. “I’m not sure yet, she also has a busy schedule with her job.” He told Kevin but he certainly wasn’t against spending more time with her if he could

To be honest, Kevin didn't think Kenji was that much of a smooth-talker. He wouldn't even think he'd necessarily be popular with the ladies if he had not seen him dating a bunch of them. Sure, he had the looks, but Kevin also knew the effort he put for it, and the discipline he was living by. He would have thought it was too much. It certainly was for him. He wouldn't put that much work into his looks. Still, when it came to talking, Kenji seemed to not even make an effort and while Kevin didn't think it was all that special, it had its effect.
He knew he shouldn't think of that. He had a girlfriend, and it was not like he wanted to change that. But it was almost like they had difficulties settling things down since they graduated. They could have used studies and work and this new lifestyle for a while but it had been a year or so now. While Kevin might not mind keeing things more or less as is, he felt it was not Jade's case. He just didn't know exactly what could be done about it.
Luckily, this plan would help things. He kind of wished to get more out of this conversation, but he felt like Kenji might end up with a similar kind of advice Delilah gave him, which was that he should figure it out. "It's more a matter of getting all of the equipment and wearing clothes in consequence." Jade didn't look like one who cared too much for fashion but Kevin wouldn't dare say it like that, lest she started thinking he meant she dressed in an ugly, boring fashion. "Have you ever been camping?" That was an activity he enjoyed with his family, how they managed to reconnect even after they fell apart. Maybe it would have the same effect with them.
He explained how he didn't know when he would meet with Jeong again. "Is that how you do it, you just meet and hope you can spend time together? I would have thought you two have given yourselves a day in the week to meet or something like that." Maybe they were not as involved yet as Kevin thought. Or Kenji was more timid than he had imagined him to be.

Kenji wouldn’t say that he was a flirt, but when he was confident he would talk to the girl he had in his mind. He wouldn’t wait forever until she really showed interest in him. It was how he ended up being with Delilah. He wasn’t mad at her for preferring to be with girls. He could understand! Though, what he disliked the most was that sometimes people were gossiping against him and saying that he turned girls’ love interests because he was boring. Sometimes people could be annoying in that sense. He didn’t know what kind of image Kevin had of him though but he wasn’t one who would constantly seek the other’s company.
He shook his head when Kevin mentioned camping. “I didn’t but I know what it is, you’re planning on inviting her to do that?” It might sound like their kinds of activities. He wouldn’t be against it himself either as it would mean he would get some training to do but he doubted that Jeong would like it as much as they did. Would she? Anyways it was about Kevin and Jade there, he could feel like they were in a rocky road. He supported them together but he didn’t see how he could help. He should have asked to Dorian, he could give him better tips. It was that much credit he was willing to give to that guy.
“No, sometimes I just show up and see how she’s doing. We don’t do that.” He said to Kevin in all honesty. It might also be cultural, how could he know? Anyways, he didn’t care, he liked it to show up with a coffee when Jeong had a long day and just talk to her when she had a break or needed to.

If there was one thing Kevin might want to take from Kenji, it was his confidence. It just came naturally to the guy. Oh, Kevin saw just how hard his friend worked to achieve his goals, but he also never doubted that, with the right effort, he could make it. It seemed to be the same with women. Not that he was certain they would fall for him. Simply that he would not be afraid to take the first step, even if the other made no sign before that she may be interested.
Kevin didn't want to make it sound as though he was with Jade because others assumed they should be together. He appreciated her. But he was also able to see another example with Kenji and wondered if he was not doing enough. And if he thought that, she could too...
Camping may not be the best idea, depending on the girl, but he thought it should be fine with Jade. "She said she did something like that with her family before. Plus she travelled so much already, that shouldn't be too bad for her." He had little care for travels, or fancy restaurants, or thrilling attractions. He didn't want to look as though he was doing those things only for her. At least she knew camping was something his family did a lot, something he enjoyed. It was one of the few things he was confident about. "And that will give you a whole weekend free of anyone else in the house," he said, teasingly pushing his elbow against his. Kenji was able to spend that time doing nothing but training but that was also a good opportunity for him to invite Jeong over.
"I don't know if I'd dare to do that," he admitted. It wasn't like Jeong's work was any less important than Jade, so he couldn't use that as an excuse. Still, it never came to his mind to go to her work and see if they could spend some time together, or even go home together. You know Delilah threatened to take her away from me if I don't up my game," he added. He knew it was in jest. Of all people who could take Jade away from him, Delilah was last. He hoped Jade didn't have problems with her anymore but it would still feel surreal if any of that happened.
He took a deep breath. He still thought Kenji was a smooth-talker, but he doubted the guy would be of much help to him, since he didn't seem to know what was so special in his actions. "I should probably head back home and finish that work for class already," he let out. At least he thought of a few things he could try and do with Jade to make things easier. "You're coming too or you intend on working out a bit more?" Or buy that coffee to bring to Jeong, he thought to himself.

[bockquote]Kenji could feel for Kevin mostly because he lacked of self confidence. He didn't know if he could do something for him either. It was a thing that Kevin needed to work on and figure out as well. He did know Jade a little since they started living together but he couldn't quite tell what the perfect date for her might be. Sure, he had some clues, like going outdoors and stuff of the like might work well for her, as well as places like museums. He could always hint Kevin with those if he was looking for ideas but he believed that Kevin was the one who had to make the moves on Jade if he did not want to lose her. He didn't want Kevin to doubt himself though, he would rather have his friend build his own confidence when it came to romance. There were things he could do better than him.
He nodded when they were talking about the camping idea. "That should work then, and you could find a nice spot where you two could be alone and spend some time to bond too." he said with a smile. That was something he was willing to help Kevin with. He, however did not know if he wanted to go to magical or non magical areas. Both could be nice in his mind. He rolled his eyes teasingly when Kevin implyed he could have the house to do whatever he wanted. "I'll probably just keep up with the training." he admitted. He couldn't help himself; he always liked working out whenever he could. It was like a drug, when you started it was hard to stop and he was fine with that.
"Why not? Did she not tell you about her schedule? You could sometimes, propose her to go dine out somewhere nice if you know when she finishes her job." he suggested. He could do whatever he wanted with his suggestion, after all, Kevin was the one dating Jade, not him! He couldn't help but snickered a bit when he mentioned Delilah's warning. "I'm not even surprised she said that." he admitted, slightly amused. He would have to give her a thumbs up next time they'd meet. He nodded when Kevin said that he would go back inside. "I have a few reps to finish and I'll come home after that." he said, indeed he was considering the coffee option, he'd have time to figure that one out when he'd finish his working out!
