"So in other words, it was just your regular case of half-blood kid accidentally letting out some magic and freaking out because none of his parents told him the truth about it. Guess, they're having an awkward conversation now, but at least it was none of the things we've been dealing with lately."
Nate was giving his report to VICTORIA FISHER . Was it just him or the woman was growing more anxious every time they had to go and fix things? Probably because lately they had more orders than usual, as though someone was having fun causing havoc. Things were certainly getting harder on them, with everyone questioning whether they could handle it or not. Sure, they didn't trust them to find someone doing this, but they had no problem demanding they cleaned up after them if they made a mess apprehending someone. nate would naturally hate people belittleing his department but it was even more so the case now with Victoria on the line.
He stared at her and a frown formed. She was not in the best of state to deal with all of this and, to him, she looked moe tired than usual. And he was certain she lost some weight. "How are you doing? Are you resting well enough?" All throughout his report, his tone had been confident, clear and often mischievous as he loved to toss a few jokes in it. But now his tone became serious, his voice lowered to almost only a whisper. This was no laughing matter. He wanted to be there for her, far more than just at work, but she was keeping some distance. She was always doing that sort of thing. "No problem with food either?" He told her he went through that before, with his mother. Had to be why she didn't want him around. Not only was she too proud to rely on someone, but she didn't want to burden him and risk hurting him when he already went through that once. He preferred not to tell her that he had been gambling a bit more than usual due to that, to get his mind off it. Maybe he should have forced his presence a bit more then, instead. But they all had their own weaknesses.
