This might not be a part of his job that Samuel liked much, but it was something he had to do. Ever since the war had ended, that Voldemort died and that Kingsley Shacklebolt became the Minister of Magic, things had gone pretty fast and busy for everyone. Yet another purge had to be done at the ministry, although this time it was to weed out the Death Eaters and their allies. Once again, Samuel got flooded in trials and inquiries, only this time his voice was heard. If he had not been booted out of the Wizengamot before when the Death Eaters took over, it was because his one voice did not weigh much against the majority, and that he had very limited power then. And he was a pureblood with no clear affiliation that would make him an undesirable.
He still had, from time to time, to deal with another trial of the sort as some remnants were caught, but things had started to quiet down for his department. Or so he thought. They had barely managed to decide how to judge people from now on and implement the new reform that came with the new Minister that another crisis hit them. True now, the Wizengamot wouldn't be needed yet as no one had been caught and formally accused. But that didn't mean he had no work to do. When not passing a sentence on someone for their crime, he had to judge other people's work. In this case, what had been discovered about the recent events happening in the muggle world, their leads and whether or not they needed more funds or someone else should do it.
Policing the department could make you hated by everyone else, but it was his job today. It was the reason why he went to the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes to hear what the ones in charge there had to say. There was a big debate whether they should keep working on this or this should be handed to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. At first glance, it was up their alley, as they had to fi things in the muggle world, but this was more than just an accident, or multiple accidents. They were not talking about a young wizard that did not control themselves or some muggle who stole something out of a witch's house. Samuel needed to assess what had been done thus far, what were their plans of action and whether or not he judged they could achieve what the Ministry wanted them to do.
As he arrived, Samuel knew they would talk about him. He knew they wouldn't like his presence. And he knew they picked him because he ma be one of the most righteous person, almost to a fault, and would not be swayed by any emotion or bribe. He arrived at VICTORIA FISHER 's office, certain she would expect him. "Miss Fisher. Have you prepared your report? We can discuss it in your office, it is fine," he told her once he could finally see her. He knew of her briefly, but he couldn't say he chatted a whole lot with her in the past. He was not much into small talk, but her knew her background and her reputation. Same for a lot of the people in her Department. He made sure of that before coming here.
