Lalia knew the kind of effect she could have on people with her Veela blood, but what she didn’t know was how much Eoghan seemed to be fighting against it. The fact that he considered her muse made her wonder if it was the way he was acting up around her from it. It wasn’t unusual for her to see men fawn over her for that reason, but she did wonder why he seemed not to act up too much on it. To think that muggles would be the ones who’d go head over heels for her only by walking in the rooms because they had no ideas of what a Veela was! It amazed her how it didn’t seem to affect them as much as it affected the wizards.
She watched him walking out of the room as she dressed back up and smiled as he got his instrument. She was curious to hear what he came up with; she always liked hearing new music, especially the music that inspired Eoghan. She grabbed the sheets that he showed her and sat down on the bed so she could read these properly. She looked back at him and nodded. “I believe I will be able to keep up with you.” She said, smiling brightly at the idea. She never tried a duet with Eoghan before it was going to be interesting, especially if the lyrics of the song meant a lot to him. Besides, there was nothing she wouldn’t do if it was related to music. She would easily give in to that considering that it was her passion.

Normally, Eoghan would act in a more blase manner when showing his music to people. He didn't want them to see how dear it was to him, how much work he put into it. And yet, here he was, wanting so badly for Lalia to have a look. He wanted to hear her voice as she tried to sing along the melody, he wanted to see her face as he would play it softly on the guitar as she did. They had yet sang together and it was also something he looked forward to. People did not seem to realise that he could do all of those things, because, to them, a drummer was just that, a drummer. Despite numerous artists proving otherwise, they thought it weird that he could compose and sing his own songs!
He let her sit down as he played with the chords of his guitar, strumming softly. She was confident she could follow along. He liked her smile. He couldn't tell why, but he liked her smile. he started to play the song. He had practiced it so much already as he tried to find the proper flow for the song, he didn't need the sheets. "You first," he challenged her as he kept playing, so she would start singing to that rhythm. It would not be perfect at first, for sure. She was hearing this melody for the first time. They were not in a movie where everyone was in tune at the first attempt.
He could be eating right now. he could have left her alone with the sheets as though it meant little to him as he ordered something for the two of them. Instead, he was playing the guitar and was eager to hear her. He thought he was silly, but he was doing it nonetheless.

Lalia was aware of how important music was to the people who were going to the school she was attending and she loved it. She would never judge their work and only put her impute to theirs when they were asking for it. What she didn’t know or more like, what she didn’t want to know was the fact she was a veela probably helped others to open up faster to her and more easily too. She never asked for it but it was welcomed in the world she was living, one where music would never stop playing in her head. She was curious to hear Eoghan’s song though and wanted to hear it even though she liked staying close to him like this. It was new to her, to have this kind of relationship. She felt like he understood her and yet, she had to hide a big part of herself. She didn’t want to have to lie to him but she had to and it was annoying.
She read the lyrics of his song and smiled at him when he challenged her. She wouldn’t have too much problem doing that, she just needed to hear the rhythm even though she had a bit of an idea of what it would be like hence she read his sheet rather quickly.
When she was confident enough to sing, she attempted the first shot at his lyrics, hoping to follow the song and that it would reach up to his expectations. Musicians could have high expectations of their songs when they were the ones who wrote and she was the first to know about it since she was like that too.

Eoghan sometimes wondered if the appeal he found in Lalia was due to how much he wanted to change his life. After the scandal he caused in the middle of a concert no less and his departure, he needed to turn things around. He never would have thought he'd like teaching. He had nothing of a teacher. Truth be told, some of his students wrote the dumbest things and really needed to take basic lessons in harmony and music writing. But, every now and then, he ended up with something passable, sometimes even good. Plus it allowed him to explore other genres, things he had less of an opportunity to do with a band that had a specific sound to it.
He wondered how an album of his would be received. He was talented but he didn't know how well people knew that. And would they want to give him that chance or would they just be waiting for the next outburst?
For now, his audience would be Lalia. A biased one for sure. He didn't think he ever heard her criticize anyone, not even when they were doing something bad. He gave her the time to read the music sheets as he fiddled with his guitar. Slowly, he started strumming the song he wrote, replaying the intro to give her the time to get a good sense of the rhythm.
It was not perfect, for sure, but she sang. He eventually sang along with her, to help her get the tone he was trying to achieve there. This was not a romcom movie. They were bot about to sing the whole thing in perfect harmony in the first try. Eoghan was fine with her no longer singing if she wanted to. Until he would finish recording it, it was still a work in progress. But it was interesting to hear how it sounded as she sang along. He was curious to hear what she thought of it, but he refused to ask. He was not one of his students eager to prove he could do it. He didn't want her to think he doubted he was able to produce a good song.

Lalia rarely felt insecure when it came to music but this was a song that Eoghan wrote. She wanted it not to sound too dumb, or to disappoint him if she was to sing his lyrics. It felt odd to her, that she would worry about such things. Music would often speak to her in the most unexpected ways. She liked playing with instruments and hearing how they could sound in particular ways. She liked the new life of hers in the muggle world. She felt like she could be herself despite her Veela powers. There were times when she felt like she was hiding too much from Eoghan, but they had a rule, and she couldn’t break it just for the sake of love. Would he believe her anyways? Surely he would if she got ever angry, but that never happened. Okay, not true, it happened once when that Umbridge was at school.
She listened to the melody and smiled, liking it already. She might be biased but she didn’t care. She always found what was good about a song and how to make it better. She didn’t think that Eoghan was looking for that from her though, it was good already. She knew though that some of her comrades needed more.
She felt confident and sang the lyrics, trying to get the notes right. Eoghan’s voice singing with her was a perfect match (or maybe it was just her being love-struck). She finished singing the lyrics and smiled at him. “This is really good.” She said honestly.

Eoghan could still remember a time when his mother worried over him choosing music. She always thought he was talented and enjoyed hearing him play, but she also didn't think it was a very secure line of work. He supposed he proved her right. Multiple times. But it still remained what he wanted to do. Even after running off from his band, he needed to do music. He couldn't see himself in a boring, regular office job. If he had to be nothing but a songwriter, it would hurt but he'd do it. If he had to be a teacher, it was painful but he did it. He genuinely didn't know for a while if he could still write as he had lost interest in what normally inspired him, in this stereotypical rock and roll lifestyle he aspired to and tried so hard to copy in the past. Lalia fixed that.
He was still confused and weirded out by it. He could not recall a time when he would have been into this type of girl. Physically, sure, but there were plenty of beautiful girls with much wilder personalities that seemed to fit his more. Was it what attracted him, this need to have a drastic change from his past life, a backto the roots moment so to speak? To be honest, he was a bit afraid of what he could turn her into if she stayed too close, but this sudden burst of inspiration was something he craved too much to let go of her. He was in quite the predicament.
She complimented his song and part of him thought she was just being nice. He had never seen her not being polite to anyone. But he also wanted to believe it really was good, that he still had it. "You may be the only one who'd say that. At least not without adding it's different from my usual stuff." He knew she didn't listen to his former band's music. Well, maybe she did afterwards but she never mentioned it. She was one of the few who did not at school, teachers and students alike. He put down his guitar. "It still needs some work but I hope to record it soon." He was lying to himself. He knew that if he reworked it, it would only be to try and erase her voice from the music while failing to. He needed her to sing on it, he just knew it, yet he was still somehow fighting it.
"I'm getting hungry. Wanna eat something?" he asked her as he got up from his seat and returned to the bedroom. He didn't bother putting too much clothes on as he went to play music, but if they were to eat, he figured he should wear a bit more. Especially since he was a terrible cook and either went to restaurants or ordered something. Either way, as much as he enjoyed walking around with only pants on, he should consider wearing a shirt as well. He went looking for the one he was wearing earlier. As he picked it, he found a piece of wood. It intrigued him. He'd call that a wand, rather ornate and well polished. He knew it did not belong to him, nor was it any of Sergeant's toys. He walked out of his bedroom with it in his hand. "Is that yours?" He did remember her once mentioning having some 'lucky stick' or whatever. He had assumed it was some conductor's stick, with her love of music. He couldn't say he remember a conductor ever using something like that.

Unlike Eoghan, Lalia's parents didn't believe much in her dreams. Nor didn't pay much attention to the fact that she had talent in music. They openly said to her that she was wasting her time there and should take a respectable job. Unfortunately, it didn't happen as they planned, disowned her and now she was being with someone who was as passionate about music as she was. She liked that, he could understand some of her opinions. She believed music came from the smallest things. Anything could inspire her and she could create as long as it was speaking to her. There was a time where she feared she couldn't play music anymore but now she was fine, while trying to hide the wounds deep down considering that she was a witch and couldn't talk magical things with him. It frustrated her at times, but she also preferred the simplier ways of muggles. Sure, there were things that could have been done in an easier way but she was okay with the lifestyle she had now.
She wondered at times either it was because she was a Veela that he was with her or not, but it wasn't a thing she could ask him. She'd probably give him the creeps if he knew. She just had to make sure not to be utterly mad and go Veela mode at him. It would be easy, right? Besides, it would be suspicious if an apartment in muggle London burnt down because she got angry...yeah, it was best she stayed in a good mood!
She liked how the song was starting and thought he was going somewhere with it. She suspected he might not be completely satisfied thinking she was biased but she didn't care. "You know, I would tell you if your song sucked, right?" She asked him, tilting her head to the side as he second guessed her opinion. She knew that he wasn't going in that style usually. She had listened to some of his old songs and liked those too but the calmer versions were quite nice as well! "You can tell me if you need me for anything." She said to him, referring to the process of song making of course.
She smiled when he suggested food and nodded. "Yeah that's a good idea." She said and sat up from the bed so she could look around for her clothes. She noticed him finding her wand- again- (she really needed to find a better place...) "Oh, my lucky stick, I'm sorry to carry it around like that, I sound weird, don't I?" She said a bit embarrassed. Damned, she needed to find a better excuse but he never questioned her when she said it was her conductor's lucky wand. "It was designed for me." she added with a bit of nostalgia as she remembered the time she got her wand at Ollivander's.

It was weird to him sometimes how little he seemed to know about Lalia. That whole concept was all that new to him, he barely knew his former partners either. He knew theirs wounds, because people always loved sharing the darker parts of their lives. Not in Lalia's case though, unless the only hardship she ever went through was being rejected by her family for choosing a career in music. If so though, he didn't think she would have had it in her to do that. She would have sighed at the dream she was giving up. There was that douchebag of a boyfriend she had before, but maybe he shouldn't talk to much. He was probably the douchebag ex-boyfriend of a lot of women himself.
Even the positive things, he realised he knew little of. Normally, he wouldn't care and Eoghan wasn't sure he still did, but it was something he noticed, something he normally wouldn't notice, and that made him wonder. Could it be something worth exploring later on?
He chuckled at her comment. "Are you even able of being this direct? You'd be brutally honest and say it sucks?" He somehow doubted that. He could picture Lalia as the type to always try to make everyone feel good around her. The overly nice girl. "Oh, I would need you for a lot of things," he answered, kissing her neck before going back to his bedroom to put on some more clothes. He doubted she intended that way, he absolutely did.
The last time, he didn't quite notice it. He knew it was something that interested Sergeant, but he didn't get a good look. It was intricate, not quite like what you'd expect of a conductor's wand as he took it to be. And she called it lucky stick. Didn't she know the proper term? Made him wonder. "How do you get one like that?" She answered, it was designed for her. "Really?" He could picture a younger version of herself, probably using her hand to go with the rhythm and someone giving her a wand to do it like professionals did it. But it was a bit too detailed to be a basic conductor's wand. A magic wand perhaps? They could like it as an additional way to distract people from seeing how the tricks really worked. He picked some of the nostalgia in her face, it made him wonder how that happened. "You should hide it, before Sergeant thinks it's a toy again." He didn't want to be responsible for it if his dog destroyed her lucky charm. He wouldn't feel guilty about it.
