Mischief Managed is a Trio Era Harry Potter roleplay. We are currently set in September of 1999, two years after the Great Wizarding War at Hogwarts. We accept original as well as canon characters, and are AU and member-driven. We are looking for members who are excited to plot with everyone! We’re friendly and active, but we are also no-pressure because we understand that real life comes first and is more important than constant posting (though we do appreciate it if you let us know before becoming inactive for a while!).
We hope you’ll enjoy your stay and if you have any questions feel free to let us know in the cbox or in our guest friendly Question/Suggestion board!

That was a fact, that Hermione could also try to talk to the people she was working with at the Ministry. While she wasn’t afraid to tell someone the truth about themselves, she was still worried about what they might say to her. Some still had their old views and she didn’t know what she could do against that. The good thing there was now that she was connected to Draco and there was also Ron who could help if she needed it. However, Ron didn’t know much about the highest-ranked family and she didn’t mind it, however, Draco might be a good place to start with as she tried to find the best way to get her parents back and to restore their memories.
She wondered why he would agree to help her though since he seemed always annoyed when she asked him to talk about the SPEW. She had to hold her tongue back to restrain any comment, as he was indeed giving her tips about the elitists.
“Ron worried a lot about his family during the war, I’m not taking that away from him. It must have been nerve-wracking to listen to the radio every time to make sure none of his family members were dead.” She said to Dorian. “I know my methods were excessive to erase their memories but I couldn’t bring myself not to do that, I had to protect them.” She said, talking about her parents. She did feel bad for her actions but it was for the best, and they’d find a way to get her parents back in here.

"Aren't there any delegates from other countries? Perhaps you should start sucking up to someone from Australia if there is any." The thought was amusing. He couldn't see Hermione trying to smooth-talk any of them to get into their good graces. She was far more direct, to not say blunt. But if she wanted to deal with those elites, or just the ministry in general, she would need to learn how to deal with them, and that implied going their way to get what you wanted. Had Dorian not made sure to be kicked out of there, he would have been good. Although, perhaps a little too arrogant.
She pointed out how her friend Ron also worried about his family. Dorian couldn't say he ever bothered knowing about the Weasley, other than dealing with the twins since they were the same age. Still, judging about where they stood in all of this, he understood why he worried. "His family was fighting too, them dying was a possibility. If the Death Eaters won the war, they would have been purged and surely they knew it." Her muggle parents, however... During the war, if they could use them against her, maybe. But she was the one more in danger there.
She didn't want to justify herself more than saying it was what she thought best to protect them. Not that you could expect more of a teenage girl, even a very smart one. "You must have been prepared though that it would be the last time you'll ever meet. At least as their daughter." Dorian knew little about memory spells but he doubted it was all that easy to reverse. "I still said I'd ask around. Who knows? Maybe someone does have a solution for you."

Hermione was trying to find the right solution for her parents’ memories. Luckily, Draco was also helping search on the side so it took off some of her weight but she would still do a lot of research late at night as she got used to being the one who always found the answer to the problem. She had seen it too, the delegates, that there were some for Australia. She didn’t know if they could help but perhaps, Dorian could tell her a bit about that. “Do you know if they could be of help? I’ve wondered.” She said. She knew that erasing their mind wasn’t the perfect solution, but it was the right thing to do if she wanted to protect them. That didn’t mean she didn’t regret it. She wanted to be with her family but she wouldn’t have forgiven herself had they used her parents against her or just straight out killed them. In a way, it was a good thing they moved to Australia just for that reason.
“They were, and they had common sense too, I think they knew what they were doing right from the start.” After all, they were part of the order back then and they had no ideas what it was until they grew up land the war was closer.
“Of course I was prepared, but that doesn’t stop me from worrying. I’d worry no matter what, even if I wouldn’t have been in good terms with my parents.” She admitted. She nodded when he said he would look it up. “Thank you, you can send me an owl if you find something, I can give you my address…” She said. She would gladly take all the information she could get, no matter what.

Talking with Hermione like this almost made him miss working at the Ministry. Almost. It wasn't like he had a lot of work but he believed he knew how to get his way with people to earn a higher status with time. He thought working there would have made the research easier. Couldn't she used this as an excuse to ask around, being some official member of the government and all? It wasn't like whoever was on the other end of the conversation needed to know to what degree.
For a moment, Dorian thought of how good it would feel to be the one bringing her the news of her parents' whereabouts. He never quite looked for that kind of fame and recognition, but having lost most of it now, he was willing to take it. Even from someone like Granger. Or perhaps because it was someone like Granger, one who had been so quick to criticize him in the past. The idea of getting back at those who never thought anything good of him was almost enough to motivate him. Almost.
He shrugged at her quesiton. "Why wouldn't they? As long as you find a way to get the answer without it showing how desperately you want it. Why would it be strange of you to ask how are relationships with muggles in Australia and how they deal with them there? Or why don't you ask them directly, pointing out you are British government seeking information on two British citizens?" Dorian had no idea how bureaucracy could be slow. As far as he knew, she might have asked that already and been waiting for a reply since.
He preferred not to say anything about the Weasley and their part in the fight. He himself joined only at the very end, and only because Lalia was stupid enough to want to help. He bet Hermione would think it was cowardly of him and not care much about the price he ended up paying. Dorian thought far too much about it himself.
"You're such a filial daughter." She must have heard the sarcasm in his voice. It might be mean to sound like this, Dorian simply thought he wouldn't have gone this far for his parents. "Are you willing to accept you might forever be nothing but a stranger to them?" He had no idea what type of research she did on bringing memories back, if such a thing was possible. He couldn't remember learning that at Hogwarts, but it wasn't like they were teaching them exactly how to erase memories either.
He shrugged again. "Or I can just send it at the ministry for you if you prefer," he said, in case she didn't feel like sharing where she was living with him. He knew he was not exactly what she would call a friend.
