Maybe Merry shouldn’t be here. She was certain she shouldn’t be here. Sprout was not in the greenhouse, but her teacher knew that she was fine with the plants. Besides, she wouldn’t be here for long. And if no student was supposed to get into the greenhouses outside of classes, they should be locked, no? Luckily for Merry, this one was not. Because she had something to pick up there.
“I’m pretty sure I was standing around... here,” she said to herself as she circled the room, stopping her gaze in one particular spot. That sounded about right. It was one of the closest spot to the teacher so she could see all she had to show. She made her way where she assumed she had been standing. It was hard to tell without all of the other students and the teacher around. Did the room change since their class earlier in the day? She could swear it did. Maybe Sprout removed tables or put more plants there. She could swear those plants weren’t there during the lesson, but she should not be surprised, she likely removed them as to make room.
“Alright, so if I was here, it should be around somewhere,” she said. First, she looked around the plants, pushing the leaves to have a better look. She then crouched on the floor and started looking under the tables. She was under one when she heard a sound. It made her jump, hitting one of its legs with her head. She resisted the urge of complaining from the pain though, freezing in place for a split second. Who was it? Sprout or someone else who shouldn’t be here? Very slowly, she moved from under the table. She didn’t want to show herself until she could tell who was in here and what for. She tried to peek from above the table, a hard feat with all the plants around blocking the view. She hoped she was not too visible herself. And then she recalled her bag she left in the middle of the alley when she decided to look underneath the tables.
