It has been a year since the fall of the Hellmouth in Sunnydale, CA. In the nearby city of Los Angeles, the Senior Partners of Wolfram and Hart have reverted the city back from its hellish dimension. The battle between good and evil has reached a kind of tenuous calm.
While the white hats are circling the wagons, though, so, too, is evil taking this opportunity to gain their strength. It will not be long before the lull is shattered, and the battle surges anew.
