A prefect at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a student who has been given extra authority and responsibilities by the Head of House and Headmaster or headmistress (In this case, the administrators). One male and one female student are chosen from each house in their fifth year to act as prefects, and would continue to be prefects in their sixth and seventh years until they leave school. Thus, there are approximately six prefects per house, and twenty-four prefects in the whole school at one time. The Head Boy and Head Girl may be chosen from among this number and may not be replaced.

What you are expected to do: You are allowed to demote 5 points for every post you find that is less than 150 words. You must pm any of the three admins the name of the person and link.

You may demote 5 points to any house in which a student doesnt appear in class a whole month (given they arent absent all together aka posting other places.)

You have to patrol the halls once a week and if you find any student out of bed, or roaming past 11 pm then you must demote 5 points and show them back to their dormitories.

You have the priviledges of the prefects bathroom, and giving 10 house points to those in your house for every post you find that is above 300 words. (again you must pm us the name and link.)

Tell us why you think you should be chosen to be one of the six prefects in your house in atleast 150 words.

To whom this may concern,

I think it is appropriate to say that I have met all the qualifications of a prefect now that I am entering my fifth year at Hogwarts. The reasons why I am qualified are: achieved highest mark in transfiguration for the past four years, excelled above standard in each class, willing to help students as needed, respectful to peers and professors, and socially interactive to my class and housemates. I have participated in muggle competitions, allowing myself to connect with muggleborns and muggles. There is the issue about respect to the muggleborns, which I would like to fix in our school. Being from a family who are both purebloods and muggleborns, I am able to understand and accept their curiosity toward this new world. Recently, I have been competing in quidditch tournaments which has promoted fitness and influenced younger students to try-out for next year.

The problem we face at Hogwarts is the lack of authority being placed on students. I believe this problem in students can be eradicated by giving them rules. In the past, we haven't seen many prefects perform this job accordingly. If you would accept me, I would be willing to accustom students into a new habit of respect. Not only respect to each other but, respect to the rules, respect to professors, and respect their surroundings. I believe we can change Hogwarts into a new, and accepting school for all wizards and witches.
