Mischief Managed is a Trio Era Harry Potter roleplay. We are currently set in September of 1999, two years after the Great Wizarding War at Hogwarts. We accept original as well as canon characters, and are AU and member-driven. We are looking for members who are excited to plot with everyone! We’re friendly and active, but we are also no-pressure because we understand that real life comes first and is more important than constant posting (though we do appreciate it if you let us know before becoming inactive for a while!).
We hope you’ll enjoy your stay and if you have any questions feel free to let us know in the cbox or in our guest friendly Question/Suggestion board!

Since a boy, Cameron has thought the idea of turning into another creature was both a marvelous idea and incredibly useful. Although he always thought he would turn into something powerful and majestic, but as he read he was surprised to see it didn't work that way. It didn't occur to him till his sixth year in school that he had to stop trying to be a particular creature however so as the class went on and he didn't manifest at first, he realized he only needed to work on it after class and keep it quiet. Thus though he took the class and studied hard, he never became one under a teacher's eye and thus didn't register with the Ministry. Afterwards in the evenings though were his long attempts and by the time he was halfway through his seventh year he managed it.
Just the same as his patronus:
Cameron's is a Siberian flying squirrel for a number of reasons. First off his natural charm which shows in how attractive (yet adorable) these creatures are. Second would be his own deep seated desires for secrecy and stealth with his own natural talents (leading to why he worked on this animagus form not in class and in advance reading up on all the advice about it so he could get it unregistered - - much like the Marauders) which shows in both the little information known about this species and their ability to move through the tree tops without descending to the ground. Cameron goes to great pains to hide his own abilities at dueling and such, to keep up that false front to fool others. He also prefers being active at night and sleeping late (not that school gives him that opportunity during the week) much like these delightful creatures. Also while he is no vegetarian, he does see much sense in stashing food in his room and locker for later times at night and in the evenings and like the squirrel 'bolts' stuff away.
And his ego considers himself to be unique it is fitting this creature is rare to find and only in very limited areas though it is suited for many areas of the world.
Cameron was however quite surprised that he is affected as much by the form as vice versa. Squirrels see green as red and so the world has taken on a different perspective for him not just in his ability to hide and move silently in his new form (not to mention the girl's stair is no effort at all now), but the fact it has impacted his mind. He finds himself drawn to trees for the first time in his life climbing a lot the one in the courtyard and finding the forbidden forest both attractive and unnerving in a way. For going from human to squirrel size opens the field to a completely different type of predator! And in the two years since then he has practiced changes frequently, though always carefully out of sight and access by others to be sure.
Sample:
It should be unusual for a white squirrel to be running through a park in London, but no one noticed the squirrel which chattered as it crossed the path and leaped for the base of the tree at the edge of the clearing. Up into the branches it scampered as a few other squirrels in other trees chattered at it, scoldingly. As the white one jumped onto a thick branch another chased it and then suddenly reversed as a human appeared in the squirrel's stead and it leapt out of crazy fear. "Shut up, you little b@stards already! I'm just passing through for Merlin's sake..." Cameron half-muttered before a glance around with human eyes to orient himself with long distance vision. Spotting where he needed to be, he focused and transformed again.
The white squirrel ran to the end of the branch and made it's way down four more large trees before suddenly leaping out of the last tree (as another squirrel chased it scolding as well only to dead stop) and gliding off towards the large stone wall near the street edge. Soon he was out of the local squirrel's sight as he landed on the inner side of the wall and scampered down behind a bush and through a drainage pipe into the space behind the bus stop. It stopped and sat up, looking around first, then went to the edge and slipped out transforming between frame and a large trash can he had used earlier. The short cut across Battersea Park wasn't strictly necessary, but it was fun.
Besides, it meant he could arrive by magic and then transform to get out of the thick area he had discovered on the south side of the park and arrive at his parent's after a nice work out. Never a bad thing.
