Mischief Managed is a Trio Era Harry Potter roleplay. We are currently set in September of 1999, two years after the Great Wizarding War at Hogwarts. We accept original as well as canon characters, and are AU and member-driven. We are looking for members who are excited to plot with everyone! We’re friendly and active, but we are also no-pressure because we understand that real life comes first and is more important than constant posting (though we do appreciate it if you let us know before becoming inactive for a while!).
We hope you’ll enjoy your stay and if you have any questions feel free to let us know in the cbox or in our guest friendly Question/Suggestion board!

While Victoria was willing to cooperate with the Law Enforcement, she was also frustrated with the situation, and on top of that she had to deal with cancer. Nothing was there to help her case and honestly, she hated it. Sometimes, she wished she could just throw everything aside but she was a boss with responsibilities and she had to guide her team towards success. She was walking on eggshells right now. If she did something wrong, she was certain they would boot her out and replace her with someone they’d say was more competent than she was. She couldn’t let anyone know of her worries, and had to show them the right path to use in this silent battle they were leading right now.
“We will need a team meeting, soon, when I’m done with the other ones.” She sighed a bit. That was a lot coming to her head and she felt like they might want to get rid of her if they could and judge her work not to be enough. She had to talk a lot about her job and defend her department. She knew that some of their co-workers had been taking this at heart, and disliked the idea of being discredited for all they did. The upcoming meetings wouldn’t be enough she feared but she kept that thought to herself.
She raised her hands to show him that she had no intentions to do that later the evening, unless another meeting got shoved in her face and for once, she didn’t wish for that to happen, she started feeling like she too needed the said break.

Nate had no idea just how concered Victoria was at the thought that people may find her incompetent. Sure, a few wizards were blasting them in papers right now, but it was the whole ministry they criticized, not anyone in particular. They wanted to find flaws in an establishment still busy rebuilding itself. He was however feeling the pressure put on everyone, not just by those misinformed wizards but also the rest of the ministry. Everyone wanted to avoid another tragedy after barely getting out of the previous one. In his mind, it made them exaggerate. What could the Law Enforcement do when they had no one to enforce the law on yet. These guys worked with strict rules, it was not their case. Nate was aware that most of the incidents they dealt with had to do with people involuntarily using magic, or losing something. Throwing the book at them would solve nothing.
"Other ones? They keep calling you out for updates?" Nate knew they were dealing with something different then what they normally had on their hands. Everyone could feel it. There was a tension in the air because of that. But they also wanted to deal with it. Well, he supposed some would be glad to throw this one in another department's court, but that was not his case.
He realised it must put her under a lot of stress, and she didn't need that. So he forced himself to ease up on the questions and complaints. "I'll keep them ready for it," he said. He might be the one fooling around the most within the department, he took his job seriously.
Nate always flirted with Victoria. People thought it was in jest, or him being a macho who was not taking his boss seriously because she was a woman. He considered that they were dating right now, although Victoria might think otherwise. Somehow though, she wanted to keep even more of a distance between them. "I'll pick you up at the end of the day. You better not find an excuse," he warned her again. He didn't know where they would eat, nor what, but he decided to focus on getting her out of the office for now. He'd rather have her at home already, but she would never agree to that.

Victoria considered spending some time playing her violin a few minutes before she would leave work tonight. She would do that sometimes, to chill whenever she was stressed and the weight they were putting on her shoulders wasn't helping especially when she was battling cancer. Nate and her secretary were the only ones knowing. She didn't want her other co-workers to see her in a different light if they knew that she was going through something of the like. It was only for Nate being his usual noisy self that he found out her issue. She honestly didn't expect he would come in her life during such a crisis time for her. Yet, she was slowly accepting him in her life and letting him in. Besides, they had to be top performers right now as they were under the spot light because of the current events.
She shrugged and nodded when he asked about the other updates. "Of course, they want to know everything. If I was a head, I would want to know the updates too." She said. To her it was a normal thing to do despite how annoying it could be. She would have to meet up with them on quite different occasions but it was part of her job because after all, she was the boss. It came with a lot of responsibilities. She nodded, trusting Nate when he said he would be ready if she needed them to be. She wouldn't have kept him if he kept fooling around without being productive after all!
She heard Nate's last words and before she let him get out of her office she asked. "When is the end of the day for you?" He didn't specify a time, she might have time to relax a bit before he would come and get her. Funny how she wasn't complaining too much anymore. She might not agree yet on the fact they were dating but she was certainly agreeing to see him more often.
